


After a few days of sleepless nights and high stress levels, the video is really coming together. I am doing each shot on its own in after effects and trapcode's 3D plugins are rather demanding (even for my supercomputer! see above) and so I can only work on a few seconds at a time. I am then exporting the rendered clips into Sony Vegas, an editing package, and stitching it all together in there and timing in to the music...
I see the different components of the video, ie the lines, the snowboarder and the timecode, as representational of the different brand ideals of the company Swatch. For example the stopwartch timecode element represents the 'sporty' element and the 3D line paint effect is sleek and stylish, just like how Swatch is currently trying to bolster the 'fashion' side of their branding.
